Roses are Red, violets are blue...All things fun can cause injury, too

The first arrangement (2 red roses, 3 white lillies) is one that was on the alter at church in honor of my birthday from Louis and the girls. The second arrangement of a dozen roses was delivered Tuesday during Core Group time at Community Bible Study. One of my friends told the delivery guy, "Mari is the one whose face is all red". Louis was so thoughtful!! He managed to clean house, grill out, help the girls make me a birthday cake in between church meetings, and a function at church that night! Such a good husband, he is and I feel blessed!

Anna put Aliza in here "to keep her out of the kitchen cabinets", she said.
Pay no attention to Abigail's wardrobe choice, hehe!! She's enjoying our yard!!
Abigail and her new bike.
Here's Anna sporting her swelled face and bruise (notice the right side looking at her) from a mouth and nose injury 2 weeks ago. She was running and tripped hitting her mouth and nose on the kitchen step. Her inner lip was torn from her top gum line pretty badly, and though there was a tooth hemorrhage, she walked away with all her teeth and NO stitches! 2 hours upon returning from the doc, she fell off her bike busting her knee. So we played inside for a while, after I picked her up by the shoulders yelling, "Please stop hurting yourself, you are scaring your MAMA!"

Time to tell time

Abigail and Anna made their own clocks to practice telling time. We used paper plates, metal brads, scrap cardstock, number stickers, and crayons. They were proud of their work and even happier they could have their own clocks to play with! This was fun for us!
Aliza got to play with a clock too!

Valentine's Party with Homeschool Group

Lots of crafts and lots of busy hands creating!
Abigail makes her princess wand...she loves using the glitter glue a bit too much!
Anna paints her ceramic heart and about five more, as well!
This was our first time to attend the Homeschool Group and the girls got to meet some new friends, while particpating in a variety of crafts and games to celebrate Valentine's Day. We enjoyed a yummy soup/sandwich lunch, played outside on the huge Noah's Ark playground, and then all the children got to walk around and put Valntines in the monkey bags they made while at the party. The girls really enjoyed themselves and it was nice to visit with other homeschooling parents as well.

Two loose teeth & out of the mouths of babes

Monday night, I did a more thorough check over Abigail's teeth (upcoming dentist appointments). Normally I just look in her mouth to be sure she was effective in brushing. But this time I put my finger in pulling her cheek out to get a closer look at the back teeth, and finally landed my thumb on the two bottom teeth to find that they MOVED. "Whoa!" Abigail panicking, "What?" I felt again, and then gave her the big news! To this, she began crying. She wails, "I want to stay 5 years old forever. I want to keep my teeth forever!" We've talked about losing teeth before, but when it didn't apply to her at the time, I guess she really didn't focus on it too much. Now that it DOES apply, she is so worked up about what could happen. She worries they'll call her "hole girl" (where do they come up with this stuff?), she worries her tooth will come out in her food, and that it will hurt. So to make her feel like she's normal, we have polled just about everyone about their experiences of losing their teeth. Though a bit overly sensitive on the issue, she was quick to prep Anna (who now is scared too of losing her teeth), "It won't hurt Anna, everyone loses their baby teeth" (acting all big sister and stuff!!). Ahh fun times!

And lastly, out of the mouths of babes!
1) Aliza bumped her chin on the cedar chest and began crying.
Abigail then says, "Bless her heart." so cute!

2) While out to eat, a hispanic man and his 12 month old daughter noticed Aliza waiving at them and so he walked over to us. Speaking minimal English, he asked how old Aliza was and so we began watching the two babies interact. Curious Anna pats him on the leg asking, "Are you her mommy or daddy?" His hair was thick and hung just to the bottom of his ears, but had NO other female characterisitcs, other than having a soft voice. I'm not able to get her attention and so I repeat twice, "Yes, Anna....that's her daddy." She's not satisfied with my answer and continues to prod. He looks and asks me what she's saying, to which I respond, "She wants to know if you are her daddy." I just pray he really didn't understand Anna. (Is that mean? I just would have hated for MY child to hurt his feelings).

And finally, 3) Anna again- a man is bent over tying a child's shoes, and Anna walks up and says "Hey Mister, I can see your underwear." I could have crawled into my grave right then and there.

Word Sorting

Our St. Pat's Week learning game with over 30 words
Great job today, Abigail!!! You read words man, am, cat, mat, ran, Sam, pan, and rat all by yourself. With help, you read ram, jam, can, vet, tan, and ham! You got a little mixed up sorting the words with endings -am, and -an.

Funny moment: How do I explain what a tan is when we always lather up with sunscreen to prevent sunburns?
